Foundations in Faith
What follows is an outline study of the foundation of a believer's faith in Jesus Christ. If you have not yet given your life to the only Savior Jesus Christ, see "Why Be Born Again?" on this site, to learn about this most significant decision of your life! Far too many of us have allowed religious tradition and the voices of others to tell us who we are and what we must do to please God. In fact it is not what we must do but who Jesus is and what He has done that gives us peace with God, and permits us to "walk in the works" which the Father has prepared for us. Read and prayerfully consider the scriptures contained in this outline. Try not to hear the words as if spoken by someone else. Let the Holy Spirit quicken their meaning to your mind as you read, and let Him teach you what He meant when He caused them to be written. "Let each one be fully convinced in his own mind…" I commend you to His Word. Identity of the Believer In Christ A new creation .....2 Corinthians 5:17-21 In the spirit One spirit together with Christ .....1 Corinthians 6:17 In the flesh Crucified with its passions and lusts .....Galatians 5:24 In the mind Having the mind of Christ .....Philippians 2:5,8 In the self Walking after the manner of the spirit .....Galatians 5:16 and 25 In the world As ambassadors of Christ .....2 Corinthians 5:20 In the Presence of the Father Seated with Him in heavenly places .....Ephesians 2:6 The New Creation - Who am I? 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 If we are in Christ we are a new creation; Old things are passed away; and all things are new. We are reconciled to Him by Jesus Christ, We have been given the ministry of reconciliation. Ephesians 4:1-7 The exchanged life = One body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all. (Who are born on His Spirit). Galatians 1:6-9 One gospel Romans 1:16 The power of God One In Christ Ephesians 1:3-14 Blessings are in Christ We are holy and blameless We are adopted as children of God Through His Grace we are accepted in the Beloved In Him we have redemption The Mystery is made known in us In the fullness of times Gathered into One in Christ Sealed by the Spirit The Spirit is the down payment on our redemption Galatians 3:26-29 We are all children of God by faith in Christ We have been baptized (immersed) into Christ No partiality, no distinction Abraham's seed (Christ) and heirs Romans 5:1-11 Justified by faith in Christ We have Peace with God We stand in Grace Love of God is shed abroad in our hearts While we were sinners Christ died for us We are reconciled, how much more shall we be saved from wrath In Christ we have received reconciliation Oneness is of the Spirit John 17:11, 20-23 We are one as Christ and the Father are one Not only His disciples but all of us who have believed them Christ in us and the Father in Christ Made perfect in one That the world may know I Corinthians 12:12,13 Unity in diversity; All drink into one Spirit Galatians 5:16, 18 Walk in the Spirit Led by the Spirit, not under Law Ephesians 2:14-18, 22 He is our Peace Abolished the enmity, the Law of commandments Made one new man We all have access to the Father by one Spirit In oneness we are a habitation of God Oneness is openness Hebrews 4:12,13-16 The Word of God is living It is powerful It is sharp enough to divide soul and spirit Discerns the thought and intentions of the heart All are open and naked before Him Oneness in the Perfect Law of Liberty Romans 3:21-31 Righteousness apart from Law Righteousness of God is by faith of Christ There is no difference The Law is perfect, redemption is by faith James 1:17-25 First fruits of His creatures Receive the word with meekness Look into the Perfect Law of Liberty Our walk in Oneness with Him Romans 6:1-14 Dead to Sin, alive unto God Buried in death, raised to life in Christ Yield your selves to God as instruments of righteousness Sin has no more dominion over us Galatians 5:13, 14 Called to liberty By love serve one another Love your neighbor as yourself Galatians 5:22-25 Fruit of the Spirit Fulfills the Law We have crucified the flesh (carnal nature) We live in the Spirit, let us walk in the spirit Ephesians 2:20, 21 Built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets Christ Himself is the Chief Cornerstone Our walk in the world with Him Ephesians 2:6, 8-10 Raised with Christ, seated with the Father in Christ Saved by Grace through faith Not of works, we are His workmanship Created in Christ Jesus unto good works God prepared our works, we just walk in them Ephesians 4:1-3 Walk worthy of our vocation Keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of Peace Our life in the Presence of the Father Hebrews 4:14-16 We have a High Priest who feels our infirmities Enter boldly into the throne room tfm@threshingfloor.org Return to the Threshing Floor Ministries Home Page Copyright ©1996-2008 Daniel R.
