Foundations in Faith

What follows is an outline study of the foundation of a believer's faith in Jesus Christ. If you have not yet given your life to the only Savior Jesus Christ, click here to learn about this most significant decision of your life! Far too many of us have allowed religious tradition and the voices of others to tell us who we are and what we must do to please God. In fact it is not what we must do but who Jesus is and what He has done that gives us peace with God, and permits us to "walk in the works" which the Father has prepared for us.

Read and prayerfully consider the scriptures contained in this outline. Try not to hear the words as if spoken by someone else. Let the Holy Spirit quicken their meaning to your mind as you read, and let Him teach you what He meant when He caused them to be written.

The New Creation - Who am I?

2 Corinthians 5:17-21	If we are in Christ we are a new creation;
	Old things are passed away; and all things are new.
	We are reconciled to Him by Jesus Christ,
	We have been given the ministry of reconciliation.
Ephesians 4:1-7	The exchanged life = One body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all.

Galatians 1:6-9	One gospel
Romans 1:16	The power of God

Ephesians 1:3-14	Blessings are in Christ
	We are holy and blameless
	We are adopted as children of God
	Through His Grace we are accepted in the Beloved
	In Him we have redemption
	The Mystery is made known in us
	In the fullness of times
	Gathered into One in Christ
	Sealed by the Spirit
	The Spirit is the down payment on our redemption
Galatians 3:26-29	We are all children of God by faith in Christ
	We have been baptized (immersed) into Christ

	We have Peace with God

Romans 3:21-31	Righteousness apart from Law
	Righteousness of God is by faith of Christ

	The Law is perfect, redemption is by faith
James 1:17-25	First fruits of His creatures
	Receive the word with meekness
	Look into the Perfect Law of Liberty

Romans 6:1-14	Dead to Sin, alive unto God
	Buried in death, raised to life in Christ
	Yield your selves to God as instruments of righteousness
	Sin has no more dominion over us
Galatians 5:13, 14	Called to liberty
	By love serve one another
	Love your neighbor as yourself
Galatians 5:22-25	Fruit of the Spirit
	Fulfills the Law
	We have crucified the flesh (carnal nature)
	We live in the Spirit, let us walk in the spirit
Ephesians 2:20, 21	Built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets
	Christ Himself is the Chief Cornerstone

Ephesians 2:6, 8-10	Raised with Christ, seated with the Father in Christ
	Saved by Grace through faith
	Not of works, we are His workmanship
	Created in Christ Jesus unto good works
	God prepared our works, we just walk in them
Ephesians 4:1-3	Walk worthy of our vocation
	Keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of Peace
